truly seeing
"When you come to be sensibly touched, the scales will fall from your eyes; and by the penetrating eyes of love you will discern that which your other eyes will never see."

Breathing
The Calming Breath
- Breathe in and out, nice and easy
- extend your exhale by one count then two,
- Think, "In, I am breathing in. Out, I am breathing out."

Soul Flares open the heart-
One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. Soul on deck shines like gold in dark times. The light of the soul throws sparks, can send up flares, builds signal fires, causes proper matters to catch fire. To display the lantern of soul in shadowy times like these—to be fierce and to show mercy toward others, both, are acts of immense bravery and greatest necessity. Struggling souls catch light from other souls who are fully lit and willing to show it. If you would help to calm the tumult, this is one of the strongest things you can do.

A thought for the day-
If the teacher is asking the questions, teaching is going on. If the child is asking the questions, learning is going on.

Chapatis
Our lovely Pakistani neighbor taught me how to make Chapatis
She actually rolls two together sandwiching mashed potatoes.
They are a staple at her house (she has a bulk sack of flour from Pakistan) and makes them all day for snacks and meals.
They are super easy: flour, water, salt (we use pink salt)
roll 'em out, sizzle and . . yum! . .
