Zip Cars!! (: Coolness!

Two Startups Partner to Make Renting & Parking ZipCars Pain-Free...

ZipCar is a car-sharing service where anyone can reserve a nearby ZipCar car and use it for the day. In London, the company is partnering with ParkAtMyHouse.com, which lets people rent out their private parking spaces, to make the process of renting and parking a ZipCar pain-free, according to SpringWise.

The partnership gives people more places to park in London, and also gives the parking space owners a larger pool of clients and the luxury of having a ready-to-use ZipCar available whenever they wish.

ParkAtMyHouse features an intuitive search function that lists available spaces near a point of interest. Further, its users can post classified ads requesting parking spots adding visibility to the parking demand.

Quantum reality!

Our entire universe is energy -- vibrating waves of pure potential. The electromagnetic vibrations of our consciousness interact with the energetic potential that exists everywhere as the life force to ‘collapse’ the waves and create matter. So the patterns of our minds create the form of our world.

By simply observing a form, we influence it. We in turn are influenced by others. This challenges us to be more aware of the quality of our being and the vibrations we transmit.

"There is no reality in the absence of observation."

Spinach Sass(:

Why You Should Eat Your Spinach

This bright green vegetable is a veritable powerhouse of nutrients, and one that Dr. Weil recommends you have on hand in your kitchen. Spinach contains lutein and zeaxanthin, antioxidant carotenoids that may help prevent cataracts and macular degeneration. Is it also a tasty source of calcium and folate, good for your bones, and provides a generous amount of vitamins K, A, and manganese. With three common varieties to choose from - the “flat leaf” variety; savoy, which has curled leaves; and baby spinach, a sweeter version of the flat leaf, spinach is a versatile vegetable you can eat raw, lightly steamed or even pureed. Always seek out organically grown spinach, as pesticides are commonly used on conventionally grown varieties. In addition, always wash spinach well, even if the package says “pre-washed.” The stems and leaves of spinach tend to pick up sand and dirt. A good rule of thumb to follow is three thorough rinsings. For recipes featuring spinach, and more fresh and seasonal food information, join Dr. Weil on Healthy Aging.

C Vitamin-

Getting Your Vitamin C

Vitamin C (also known as ascorbic acid) is a well-known nutrient found abundantly in vegetables and fruits. A water-soluble vitamin and powerful antioxidant, it helps the body form and maintain connective tissue, including bones, blood vessels, and skin. It is also important for many bodily functions, as it helps to repair and regenerate tissues, protect against heart disease, aid in the absorption of iron, and decrease total and LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and triglycerides. Research indicates that vitamin C may help defend against a variety of cancers by combating free radicals. It also helps neutralize nitrites (preservatives found in some packaged foods that may cause cancer); lessen the duration and symptoms of a common cold; delay or prevent cataracts; and support healthy immune function. Vitamin C is easy obtainable through foods. Natural sources include: Apples, asparagus, berries, broccoli, cabbage, melon (cantaloupe, honeydew, and watermelon), cauliflower, citrus fruits (lemons, oranges), kiwi, dark leafy greens (kale, spinach), peppers, potatoes, and tomatoes. You can also get your daily C through fortified foods such as breads, grains, cereal. Find out if vitamin C is recommended for you; take Dr. Weil’s Vitamin Advisor.

Get a life!!

Get a life in which you are not alone.
Find people you love, and who
love you.
And remember that love is not leisure,
it is work....
Pick up the phone. Send an e-mail.
Write a letter. Kiss your Mom. Hug
your Dad. Get a life in which you are generous.
And realize that
life is the best thing ever,
and that you have no business taking it for
granted." -- Anna Quindlen

desiderata-

Max Ehrmann

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Mothers' Milk Reveals Ancient Diets

Mothers' Milk Reveals Ancient Diets

April 17, 2007 — Breast milk from women in regions where the first humans likely emerged suggests that Western diets — with their high amounts of carbs, sugars, salts and oils — go against the optimal human diet.

That conclusion comes from a new study that also suggests infant formula guidelines, which are based on Western dietary recommendations, need reassessment.

"It is somewhat strange to first drastically deviate from what we as Homo sapiens derive from in an evolutionary sense, then, because of this deviation, we get all kinds of new diseases that many blame on environment, notably diet, and then we set recommendations on the basis of this abnormal diet!" author Frits Muskiet told Discovery News.

You do not need to leave your room.
Remain sitting at your table and listen.
Do not even listen, simply wait,

The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked,
it has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.

For real- love is always the answer!

LIFE IN ABUNDANCE COMES ONLY THROUGH LOVE

Love is the most important ingredient of your success.
There is no force more potent than love.
Take away love and your world is a tomb.

Without love, your life echoes emptiness.
With it, your life will vibrate with warmth and meaning.
Even during great hardship, love shines through.

If you have love,
you don't need to have anything else,
and if you don't have love,
it doesn't matter what else you have.

As you look back on the events in your life
you will find that the moments that stand out,
the moments when you have really lived,
are the moments when you have done things in a spirit of love.

Therefore, search for love.
Once you have learned to love,
you will have learned to live.

As water is to a flower,
so is love to the heart of another.

Words of Wisdom-

Friday 6, April 2007

Self talk is revealing

"If you wish to know the mind of a man, listen to his words."

-- Chinese Proverb

What passes over your lips each day?

Are your words typically negative, critical, gossiping, deceptive, illusory, justifying, blaming, manipulative and argumentative? Are they more uplifting, inspirational, positive, questioning, beautiful, loving, universal, truthful, accepting and supportive?

The throat is our center of expression. Who we are sneaks out in our attitudes and in what we say.

"Handle them carefully, for words have more power than atom bombs."

-- Pearl Strachan Hurd

"The wise weigh their words on a scale with gold."

-- Bible

Zero Waste!!

How Does Zero Waste Differ From Recycling?

What should have been in such plans, that would have revealed a truly new theory of resource conservation? The essence of the new synthesis can be summed up in one pregnant phrase: redesign for reuse. But what kind of redesign for what kind of reuse? That is where the new theory flexes its muscles.

Coming Together-

We come from different political, religious, and social backgrounds, but
share a common concern that the living Earth or Creation, must be protected,
that the upcoming generations have an inalienable right to a stable climate
and that the United States, founded by small farmers and craftsmen/women,
must return to the spirit and ideals upon which our Republic was founded.
